Ryan Adam Spilborghs (born September 5, 1979 in Santa Barbara, California) is a Major League Baseball outfielder with the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies drafted Spilborghs in the seventh round of the 2002 draft out of the University of California, Santa Barbara. He played for the Madison Mallards during the summer of 2001 during his collegiate career. He also played in the Mexican Pacific League for Yaquis of Obregon, playing center field. The song that is playing when Spilborghs comes to bat is Out Here Grindin', sung by DJ Khaled, Akon, Rick Ross, Young Jeezy, Trick Daddy, Plies, and Plies. Spilborghs has served as a utility outfielder for the Rockies since 2007. He began the 2007 season at AAA with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, after being beaten out for a roster spot by veteran Steve Finley. After Finley was released by the Rockies, Spilborghs returned to the team. In 2008, he made the team outright from Spring Training, serving as the fourth outfielder. With the departure of center fielder Willy Taveras prior to the 2009 season, Spilborghs figures to be the starting center fielder for the Rockies beginning in April.
